The NIFC Affiliation
Beginning in the 2026-27 season, Pumas is transitioning from NorthWood SC Pumas to become an official development academy of Northern Indiana FC — we will now play under the NIFC Pumas Academy name. Through this affiliation, we can provide our players and coaches with enhanced resources and opportunities while still maintaining full control over our operations, pricing, and club culture.
In addition to the affiliation with NIFC, we are also excited to announce strategic partnerships with the Bremen and Syracuse communities, making Pumas the official travel program in those areas. These partnerships will allow us to accommodate more players, participate in higher-level competitions, and keep our players local — all at the most affordable prices in the area. To facilitate the transition, we have formed a travel committee with representatives from each community.

NIFC provides direct support in building a structured player development curriculum — giving our coaches a professional framework and our players a clear standard to develop against at every age group.
The affiliation opens doors to higher-level competition without leaving our local community.
Through our partnership with NIFC Academy, players aging out of our U9–U14 program have a dedicated home at the high school level — keeping their development on track without having to look elsewhere.
NIFC shares our belief that Michiana soccer talent should be developed here, at home. This is a parent club that is invested in keeping players local and building something lasting for our community.
